ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
MARCUS WONG M.D.
Marcus Wong has always been fond of photography. He is an Obstetrician and
Gynecologist. Since his retirement from medical practice four years ago, he has
now been able to devote more time to pursue the art of photography. He is
currently a member of the Los Angeles Hong Kong Photographic Society and has
been shooting pictures with their members three to four times a month. He is a
customer at Bel Air Camera; his enthusiasm is contagious! Marcus also likes to
indulge in Chinese watercolor painting and calligraphy on rice paper, both of
which have helped him a great deal in terms of color coordination and
composition. Despite his lack of formal instruction and relative inexperience in
the field, he welcomes the new challenges that present everyday. Marcus used to
take pictures with his Leica R8 or the Canon 1V film cameras but with the rise
of digital technology, he is now shooting almost exclusively with his digital
cameras Canon 20D, 30D and 5D and the EF 100-400mm f /4.5- 5.6 IS USM, EF
70-200mm f 2.8 IS USM and the EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro U lens. Most of his pictures
are printed the way they are taken and some of them are enhanced with Photoshop.
The photos currently on exhibit at Bel Air Camera are printed on metallic paper,
a service which Bel Air provides.
Dr. Wong is currently exhibiting his latest photos of magnificent flowers,
butterflies and birds at Bel Air Camera. You are invited to view them during
store hours, free of charge. You will be amazed!
